Re-election at 29 polling stations of NA-259 today

QUETTA: Re-election at 29 polling stations of NA-259 constituency will be held today. NA-259 constituency comprises Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Sibi and Barkhan districts of Balochistan.

The polling is being held on the instructions of the Balochistan High Court as Mir Tariq Mehmood Khetran had filed an application against alleged rigging in the 2018 general elections.  Arrangement for the polls has been finalised by the Election Commission. At least 31 members are contesting in the re-election at NA-259 whereas 115 polling booths have also been established on these 29 polling stations.

The number of registered voters at the polling stations is 47,269 out of which 27,899 are female and 19,370 are male.  Eighteen (18) polling stations have been declared very sensitive. Strict security measures have been taken for the by-poll and contingents of police, Frontier Corps, Levies and other law enforcement agencies have already been deployed.
