The river, foggy mounds and forests are the main attractions of the region

ISLAMABAD: Kumrat is a valley in Upper Dir District of K-P. The valley is mostly covered with a white carpet of snow, melting into falling streams of gushing water, decreasing the temperature of the area. The rich green environment of the valley is a treat to behold. The hovering clouds touch the snow on high-peak mountains while the reflection of mild sunlight from the snow increases the visual range which makes it easy for tourists to see the movements of small objects in far-off areas without having to need a telescope. The forming of clouds and light shower of rainfall almost every evening in the valley brings the temperature even further down. The Panjkora River, Jahaz Banda and Katora Lake are among the most beautiful parts of Kumrat.

The river, foggy mounds and forests are the main attractions of the region, which serve as natural habitats for a variety of flora and fauna. Jahaz Banda is surrounded by snow-clad mountains, towering trees, and covered by green pastures. Katora Lake is fed by the surrounding melting glacier waters. Many tourists have complained about the non-availability of mobile phone networks in Kumrat. They said that mobile companies had not installed their towers in the area. The road leading to Kumrat is also rough which is creating a huge issue for tourists visiting there.

The tourism department could provide a temporary mobile phone network to tourists as it had provided in other tourist resorts. The K-P government should rebuild the road to Kumrat.
