KPT overcame PAF in Karachi while KRL beat Police in Quetta as both teams edged past their opponents at the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL). Muslim FC, in the final match of the day, put up a brave effort, holding star-studded Wapda to a draw.
KPT, playing on their home ground, won 1-0, courtesy Naveed Ahmed who scored in the first half. The team continued to press for another goal, but failed to convert their chances against PAF’s defence.
However, the 26th minute move, which saw Ahmed find the target with ease, proved decisive as KPT drew back their players to successfully prevent an equaliser from PAF.
Meanwhile, KRL recorded a similar victory over Police at the Sadiq Shaheed Stadium in Quetta to gain maximum points in the league. Striker Kaleemullah scored the match-winning goal in the 13th minute after starting a counter-attack.
In the final match at the same venue, Muslim FC put up an impressive performance to hold four-time champions Wapda to a goal-less draw. Although Wapda possessed the ball more, Muslim FC defenders successfully defended any threat posed throughout the match.
