Accident and emergency services launched in Jamrod

PESHAWAR: The provincial and federal governments are working to upgrade the health facilities in the newly merged tribal districts (NMTDs) to improve the delivery of healthcare services at their doorsteps.

This was stated by K-P Health Minister Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan on Friday while inaugurating new equipment installed in the emergency and outpatient wards of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in the Khyber Tribal District.

Dr Hisham said that they have taken steps to improve healthcare in NMTDs. He also inaugurated the accident and emergency service in the Jamrod area of Khyber.

“The modernisation of the accident, emergency department in the civil hospital will help provide timely treatment to patients and also serve Afghan refugees,” the health minister said.
