Twitter cannot stop grooving to Strings' new song 'Raat Shabnami'

The ever-green band has evolved with its audience, and here's the proof

KARACHI: Strings released their latest track Raat Shabnami and it marks the last single of their album 'Strings Thirty'. The band aims to explore a new musical space, accompanied by a psychedelic music video.

The song is inspired by cutting-edge influences, with the seam of genuine love and nostalgia that gives it the simple charm that Strings have always tried to retain.

Founding members, Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, along with Aahad Nayani, Haider Ali, Adeel Ali and Bradley D'Souza have concluded their album and the band's thirtieth anniversary in a mind-boggling manner. Raat Shabnabi won the internet with its groovy take on an otherwise somber and romantic track.

The sound seems to be coming from a high-tech midi, showcasing how the band has landed out of its comfort zone, into the future of music. Overall songwriting and composition is catchy and upbeat, reiterating that Strings continue to be one of the most versatile and relevant acts of the Pakistani music scene. However, what has kept them relevant is clearly not their signature sound, on the contrary, it is the evolution of their sound; a continuous reinvention that continues to cater to the younger lot despite changing times.

The music video, directed by Yasir Jaswal is equally engaging. It takes off with a retro vibe, feeding the viewers with a haze of purple, red and blue everywhere. And social didn't have any different opinions about the song and the video.

After four years, the act had announced their separation from Coke Studio as producers, in order to celebrate their 30-year-anniversary as a band. It was then that they announced they would release a new album, and now that it's finally out, social media is over-flooding with compliments.
