Two martyred FC officials laid to rest

FC contingent pays tribute to fallen men, floral wreaths laid on graves

SHABQADAR: Frontier Constabulary (FC) officials Naik Amjad Hussain and Lance Naik Sagheer Khan, who had embraced martyrdom during an attack on Luni post in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, were laid to rest on in their separate ancestral graveyards in Shabqadar on Wednesday.

The two soldiers, along with two of their comrades, were transporting dry food items to their unit in a rickshaw-loader on Tuesday when they came under a gun attack from unidentified armed men. As a result of the attack, Naik Hussain and Lance Naik Sagheer were martyred while their two comrades were injured.

Senior FC officials including FC Deputy Commandant Abdul Jabar and FC Shabqadar District Officer Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto, Charsadda Police DPO and Charsadda DC attended. Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chairman Sikandar Sherpao also attended the funeral along with a large number of locals.

An FC contingent paid tribute to the martyred comrades while Jabar laid floral wreaths on their graves.

Lance Naik Sagheer had joined the force around nine years ago at the height of militancy in the area. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Naik Hussain hails from Matta Mughalkhel area and had joined the FC 15 years ago. He is survived by three sons, the oldest of which is eight-years-old.

Shabqadar has the largest FC training centre in the country where more than 1,000 recruits are trained every year. Most of the youth are youngsters from Shabqadar and dozens of officers from the area have laid down their lives over the past few years.
