Cabinet taking steps to support sportspersons, says Langove

Home minister vows to promote healthy activities across the province

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam KamalBalochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said on Wednesday the provincial cabinet was taking all possible measures to support sportspersons and vowed to promote sports activities across the province.

Addressing a bodybuilding competition in Quetta, the minister said that sports events were important for mental nourishment of the youth. He stressed that healthy activities had become imperative for the society.

“Exercise remained a vital part of a healthy body. While youth’s passion for bodybuilding is a good sign of healthy Balochistan,” said Langove. He pledged his full support for bodybuilding events in Balochistan.

On provincial government’s approach towards sports, he said Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal, as sportsman himself, was paying keen attention for promoting such activities.

“Balochistan government will fully support provincial sportspersons earning a good name for the province at national and international level,” he added.

On the occasion, provincial Sports Secretary Malik Muhammad Naeem Kakar also stressed the need for boosting sports and physical activities for “saving children from the menace of drugs addiction”. The sports department would support bodybuilding events, he added.
