At least three civilians including a woman were injured in unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday, the military said.

Indian troops targeted civilian population in Bagsar sector, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“Three innocent civilians including a woman, all residents of Mendika village of Bhimber district’s Samani tehsil, got injured [in the incident],” it added.

The Indian occupation forces along the LoC and Working Boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy calibre mortars, and automatic weapons. This unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India is continuing from the year 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations.

'60 Indian troops killed by Pak Army in LoC skirmishes since Feb 27'

Pakistan has termed the LoC ceasefire violations by India as a threat to regional peace and security that could lead to a strategic miscalculation.

Tension has been running high between the two bitter neighbours since February 27 when Pakistani fighter jets carried out air strikes in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and shot down two Indian warplanes in subsequent dogfights in retaliation for an abortive air raid by Indian aircraft in Pakistani territory a day earlier.
