Diwali looks: The best and the worst

Bollywood's who's who showed up - all glammed up - and we have the best and worst dressed from the parties!

DUBAI: Diwali euphoria at the Bachchan's Jalsa bungalow was quite high on Sunday night as Bollywood celebrities dressed in their festive best celebrated the festival with them.

The Bachchans hosted a Diwali party after two years (more on later) and it was packed with star power. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, actor Anil Kapoor also hosted a grand party to celebrate Diwali with his filmy friends.

Bollywood's who's who showed up - all glammed up - and we have the best and worst dressed from the parties!

While the stars such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pedenkar nailed their ensembles other bigwigs such as Sunny Leone, Sonakhi Sinha, Janhvi Kapoor and Katrina Kaif got it all wrong.

Kareena Kapoor:

Wearing: Good Earth India Couture Collection.

What worked: Bebo ditched the glam look this Diwali and chose a more simplistic approach with a black and teal lehenga choli and antique jewels.

Anuhska Sharma:

Wearing: Sabyasachi.

What worked: Anushka's quirky lehenga choli with colourful hues looked stunning with pulled back hair and chunky jewellery.

Ananya Panday:

Wearing: Amit Agarwal

What worked: It is definitely neon season and Ananya is making sure to wear it to the fullest! Her neon green lehenga choli was innovative and beautiful altogether. We loved the nude makeup and maang teeka!

Bhumi Pednekar:

Wearing: Torani

What worked: The Saand Ki Aankh star's ivory embellished lehenga choli with the works looked gorgeous on her. Bhumi completed the look with lose curls and simple makeup.

Malaika Arora:

Wearing: Irth

What worked: Everything! We love the textured gold lehenga, paired with a simple plain blouse. What really stood out in Malaika's look was her stunning emerald neck piece!

Sunny Leone:

Wearing: Reeti Anerja

What didn't work: While we absolutely adored Sunny Leone's matching outfit with her kids, we didn't really fall in love with her look. This Reeti Anerja yellow ensemble didn't really work. The choked collar was just plain boring.

Sonakshi Sinha:

Wearing: Navy blue lehenga

What didn't work: Sonakshi's glam for the night fell short due to boring outfit and even worst makeup!

Janhvi Kapoor:

Wearing: Gold ensemble

What didn't work: Janvhi is a stunning girl. There aren't any doubts. But her gold lehenga choli last night looked eerily similar to another Manish Malhotra outfit she had worn before.

Katrina Kaif:

Wearing: Red and Gold ensemble

What didn't work: Kartina Kaif's look for the Diwali bash didn't really work out. The actor chose a red lehenga choli with gold works.

Diwali is incomplete with a few stars dazzling around in gorgeous saris. We absolutely loved the looks sported by Tara Sutaria, Mira Rajput and Kriti Sanon. We expected more from Shraddha Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

Tara Sutaria:

Wearing: Silver number

What worked: This could easily be our favourite look  of the night! Tara Sutatia's silver sari bore similarities to Priyanka Chopra's popular Desi Girl song's but the sleek hair added more glam!

Mira Rajput:

Wearing: Ruffled blue sari

What worked: We don't really find Mira's choice of style too commendable but have to give props to he for thinking outside the box! Mira chose a ruffled blue sari with deep neck blouse and straight hair.

Kriti Sanon

Wearing: Textured black and bronze sari

What worked: Kriti's textured bronze and black sari was different and the actor looked dazzling in it! We need to know where we can get our hands on her jhumkas.

Shraddha Kapoor:

Wearing: Banasri sari

What didn't work: No, no and no! We know it isn't wrong to go traditional every once in a while but Shraddha's purple and gold banarasi sari was just way too old school. And boring.

Karisma Kapoor:

Wearing: Sabyasachi

What didn't work: Any other day, we probably wouldn't be critical of Karisma's Sabyasachi red number. But her plain red sari seemed a little too simple for a bash. We do love her earrings, however.

Sonam Kapoor:

Wearing: Ivory sari with the works

What didn't work: We like the sari, we aren't sure about the cape. And the jewellery. And the hair.

Sara Ali Khan

Wearing: Red ensemble.

What didn't work: Sara definitely needs to change her stylist. Pronto.

Twinkle Khanna

Wearing: Pink gharara pants, shirt with gota work

What didn't work: EVERYTHING!
