Sindh govt mulls over another solution to end garbage menace
Sindh Solid Waste Management Board may be tasked with transferring garbage from GTS points to landfill sites

After 'Clean My Karachi', the Sindh government is considering another strategy to rid the metropolis of the garbage menace. Sources in the provincial government have revealed that the possibility of handing over the responsibility for lifting garbage from Karachi, on a daily basis, to local government representatives is being deliberated upon.
According to government sources, it has been proposed to task district municipal corporations (DMCs), in all six districts of Karachi, with cleaning garbage from areas in their respective districts.
Elaborating further, the sources revealed that it is being recommended to assign the task of transferring garbage from the city to garbage transfer stations (GTS) to DMCs.
It has also been suggested that the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board be tasked with transferring garbage from GTS points to landfill sites, the sources claimed.
