Culture and education

The state of education and culture in Pakistan is pitiful

HYDERABAD: The state of education and culture in Pakistan is pitiful. Copy culture is rife. Young men and women are happy having acquired an education that is hardly a proper education. People are only after making money. No one is interested in culture. If you ask the young generation about Amir Khusro, Bulleh Shah and Shah Latif’s poetry, they will draw a blank. They know about Iqbal but they are not aware what the great poet says. This state of affairs is bad. Our policymakers should take notice of the situation and try to set things right. We all should try to raise the standard of education and also should try to acquaint ourselves with culture.
