Govt, US plotting against army, ISI: Altaf
In a hard-hitting address on Tuesday, MQM chief Altaf Hussain levelled some pointed accusations against the government.
He alleged that the government was plotting against the country’s armed forces, the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and institutions responsible for national security, in collusion with the United States.
He said this while addressing a joint session of the MQM coordination committees in Karachi and in London.
Speaking about national security, national self-esteem, conspiracies against institutions responsible for the national security, mounting US pressure on Pakistan and the government’s conspiratorial attitude, the MQM chief said that the current regime was contriving against its political opponents, particularly the MQM.
“The government has been conspiring against the armed forces of the country, the ISI and institutions responsible for national security. The government’s conspiracies against the institutions responsible for national security are tantamount to harming the integrity and sovereignty of the country,” he said.
He said that, despite the fact that the MQM stood by the government during its difficult times, the latter had stabbed the party in the back.
Hussain said that the government had not only taken action against the people of the country, but had been resorting to dictatorial policies towards the MQM.
He said that the nation should prove with their unity that they were with the armed forces and the national security institutions.

Altaf Saheb today you are saying that government was plotting against the country’s armed forces, the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI but from last two years Mr Faisal Muhammed " Central Leader of PML (ZIA) warning continously but you are enjoying power with this regime when PPP rejacted your request Two Seats from Azad Kashmir you left PPP and now you give this comments ? Altaf sahab, Pakistan don't need corrupt politicians whether it is Nawaz or Zardari - We need sincere, honest, dedicated and patriotic people/politicians that will help progress the Pakistan's economy, educational, Industry, health and techonology sector. This is what needs to be kept remembered in mind when we give any statement and as a proof continously work towards this cause without any biasness and favour.
This is the story of Pakistani politicians. Everywhere else, the politicians canvass the support of the electorate. In Pakistan, the politicians try to curry favour with the Pak Army Generals. Altaf Hussein, Imran Khan, Gen. Musharraf and PML(Q) leaders are now front runners to be PM after the next military coup. Shariff and Zardari may get electorate support. But, at the end of the day, Pak Army decides who rules.

What utter nonsense. The PPP, from what one reads in the papers, strives for the establishment of democratic institutions. It is time the armed forces stop interfering in the decision making policies of governance. Past mistakes, very detrimental to Pakistan's existence after all have been taken by military minds - it being why most constitutions insist armed forces are relevant for defense but ought not to interfere in the making of government policies that be left in the hands of elected politicians, parliaments. If this government achieves such a balance, it would be its biggest success!! MQM is once again toting military opinions..... vested interests rather than national welfare???
This sounds comic. What we have learnt all our lives is that army personnel plot and conspire against lawful kings(olden days) and (now) lawful governments. It is surprising to learn some thing what Mr Altaf is claiming. Sir the army is an arm of the Govt and not the vice-verse.Correct you orientation for the sake of your country's good. Sir.
