ISLAMABAD: Residents of the federal capital on Sunday urged the health authorities of the city to immediately start work on expanding the Federal Government Polyclinic (FGPC) Hospital to provide patients with more services and equipment.

They decried an unnecessary and inordinate delay in starting work on the Polyclinic extension project as the existing hospital building was struggling to cater to the needs of a growing city and that it simply could not fulfil the requirements of all.

They said with the completion of the expansion plan, more facilities will become available for patients and the hospital will offer modern healthcare.

Aslam Ameen, a patient, said Polyclinic was located in the centre of the city. He said the relevant authorities should take immediate steps to upgrade the facility to serve the patients.
