The National Information Technology Board (NITB) has started work for the purpose and various projects are close to completion.
According to a copy of “Minutes of Meeting” available with The Express Tribune, the NITB is introducing the self-information management system for monitoring the implementation of the cabinet’s decisions.
A follow-up and tracking would be carried out for the implementation of decisions and all pronouncements will be electronically sent to cabinet members and secretaries of concerned ministries and divisions.
It was further said the secretaries of concerned ministries and divisions would electronically inform about the implementation of cabinet’s decisions and further developments and also upload these developments in the system which would be sent to all the members of the cabinet.
The dashboards of the information management system (IMS) would be available with the premier and cabinet division. The PM will be able to check on his discretion the status of the implementation of the cabinet’s decisions on a real-time basis and cabinet division will provide a summary of decisions on a real-time basis.
In the NITB CEO presentation, it was told that the board was introducing a self-information management system, a system to find sources of fake news on social media, centralised data centre and counter money laundering system to curtail money laundering.
These projects are in advanced stages of their completion.
The NITB said with the implementation of e-commerce policy, e-point security for the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), government end procurement, under-price resource planning system, Pakistan Intra-Communication System, Silicon valley offices and other electronic systems will be introduced.
