KARACHI:

The Sindh government, inspector general of police and other alleged contemners were put on notice for July 15.

A division bench of the High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Tuesday issued the orders after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) filed a contempt of court application.

The application pertains to a petition questioning a report by the DIG headquarters of Karachi which served as the basis for postponing the general elections to two seats of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

On Tuesday, the SHC bench listened as the counsel explained the case.

The bench was told by the counsel for the petitioner that the alleged contemners were violating a July 4 order of the bench and generated a report and sent it to the authorities without calling the petitioners and without taking the stakeholders into confidence.
