Shuffle: ADB appoints new country director

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced the appointment of Dr Werner Liepach as Country Director of the Pakistan Resident Mission on Tuesday. Former Country Director Rune Stroem has moved to ADB headquarters in Manila as Director, Energy Division in the Central West Asia Regional Department(CWRD), according to a statement. Prior to taking up the new assignment, Liepach was working as Deputy Director General of the Central West Asia Regional Department since 2009. ADB is working with the government and the private sector to improve Pakistan’s infrastructure, energy security, and basic public services.
