ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Indonesian Open University Terbuka (IOUT) on Friday agreed to a bilateral arrangement to exchange their expertise to promote quality education.

Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum and IOUT Rector Prof Ojat Darojat. Indonesian Embassy Islamabad Cultural Counselor Deny Tri Basuki was also present.

Under the agreement, the two sides will exchange faculty members and staff, undertake joint research in the field of common interests and share their existing practices on Open Distance Learning Systems.

Dr Qayyum hoped that their bilateral cooperation will help promote learning and teaching practices.
