A symbol of the fight against breast cancer and a way to spread awareness
ISLAMABAD: The pink ribbon, usually worn in the month of October, has been a symbol of the fight against breast cancer for over a decade and it acts as a way to spread awareness. Breast cancer is a scary thought. Many women think that it won’t happen to them but the fact is that every ten minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Instead of being ignorant, it is important to go for a medical checkup. I would like to share with you some of the early signs of breast cancer. If one experiences a lump on the breast, pain or constant and abnormal discharge this means that it is important to consult a doctor immediately. Many women do not report these symptoms because of a feeling of shame. It is important to spread awareness therefore I would urge all the women to spread any information they have that can help other women around them.
