City of lights

In order to bring back the glory of Karachi everyone needs to contribute

ISLAMABAD: Karachi, the city of lights, plays a very important role in the social, economic and political development of the country. Unfortunately, Karachi faces many difficulties mainly due to the massive increase in population over the years. The garbage disposal crisis in Karachi has become one of the major issues. As population, urbanisation and industrialisation increase, garbage and filth all around the city increases exponentially. It is difficult to find vast areas or patches of clean land in Karachi. Garbage includes all kind of wastes like domestic, construction, industrial waste near food and food markets. Tons and tons of waste on road corners, behind mosques and beside schools have accumulated over several years. Unfortunately, the people of this city also throw garbage without hesitation on roadside and in public places. The government should initiate campaigns to educate people about sanitation systems and hygiene. The local government should take responsibility for cleaning specific areas on a daily basis. In order to bring back the glory of Karachi everyone needs to contribute. Proper management and better cleaning projects can help to recover the situation.
