Sources said the veteran politician of the PML-Q will be meeting with the MQM's Coordination Committee on behalf of the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP). It is expected that Shujaat will be making an attempt to reconcile the MQM and the PPP to bring MQM back into the ruling coalition.
While speaking to the media, Shujaat however denied that he was carrying a message across from the PPP. He said his party has strong relations with Altaf Hussain.
“I’am going to Nine Zero to improve relations,” he said.
The meeting will take place at 9 pm after which a joint news briefing is expected at the MQM headquarters.
The MQM has already taken a position that it will not re-join the government at any cost.
Following the MQM’s sudden exit from the federal and provincial government, PPP leader Jahangir Badar claimed that the PPP will talk to the MQM and will not let go of it like that.
He said the PPP would continue its policy of reconciliation, and take on board all political parties on the issues of national interest.

@Dr. Saleem Siddiqi:
Very well said!!
In which ever Matter Mr. Shujaat interferes gets embroiled even more. You can take many examples from Musharraf era. I hope this meeting turns out different!

Addressing people need is more important than meeting politicians. Politics had to make focused on people rather on politicians itself
What for? Ch. Shb you are already in the Govt. reaping big benefits.
Nasuhad..can you share the OBVIOUS REASONS? It took 5 days for the rangers to enter the Qasbah and Katti Pahari area, who is responsible for it? Authority and power exist with Interior minister, so it lame to blame law and order situation on local govt system.
@Naushad: What good has the Commissioner system done for the common people in 53 years of its existence? The newer system provided representation to people & paved way for progress in the civic infrastructure of the country.
It's a good idea. MQM must concede in the larger interest of preserving itself and its political philosophy. Self-preservation must prevail over hubris. It just can not allow itself to be completely isolated. Read the writing on the wall, it's a situation of us v. rest of them all. Nawaz is not an ally, he never was. They will all gang up against MQM and do anything to hurt it. Existence should not be jeopardise no matter what.
Despite all his failings Chaudhry Shujaat is a very sharp politician. I pray he succeeds in his mission. My only hope that there is no compromise on the law and order situation and the Commissioner/DC system as the earlier town system failed to maintain law and order for obvious reasons.
