Emphasising the importance of love, inclusiveness and brotherhood
SHIKARPUR: A three-day urs celebration of the great Sindhi Sufi Saint, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, begins from Oct 14. The Sindh government has put in place strict security measures for the occasion and has deputed as many as 2,400 police personnel and 80 Rangers troops, while 44 closed-circuit cameras and 20 walk-through gates have been installed.
As religious extremism, sectarianism and bigotry have seeped into our society’s foundations and fabric like cancer, this is time to popularise the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai: the message of love. What we witness today in our country is coagulation of hatred, egoism, self-aggrandizement, and complete absence of love among our people.
Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai emphasises the importance of love, inclusiveness and brotherhood. It is therefore high time to spread his message of love to defeat hate and not confine ourselves to yearly celebrations alone. We need love and affection and the spirit of accommodation. We all should work together towards this noble end.
