Pose actor Billy Porter is in negotiations to join the Senorita famed singer, Camila Cabello, in the musical version of Cinderella.

Porter will play Cinderella's fairy godmother, reported Variety. The drama will be helmed by Kay Cannon. While exact plot details remain unknown, the story is described as a modern reimagining of the classic fairy tale.

The new Cinderella will be a music-oriented version of the traditional tale of the orphaned girl with an evil stepmother.

Disney's 1950 animated drama has received two live-action remakes: 1997's iteration starring Brandy and Whitney Houston and Kenneth Branagh's 2015 version with Lily James.

The movie is scheduled to release in 2021.

Porter has earned acclaim for his performance as Pray Tell on Ryan Murphy's Pose. The multihyphenate's stage credits include Angels in America and Kinky Boots, the latter of which garnered him a Tony Award in 2013.

Porter's upcoming projects include the third season of Pose and the Paramount comedy Like a Boss. He is repped by CAA and Industry Entertainment.

Porter made headlines when he walked the 2019 Oscars within an unapologetically fabulous gown. The custom creation by designer Christian Siriano included a sharply tailored tuxedo jacket overtop a full-skirted strapless velvet gown.

Recently, the actor wore an eye-catching look — a sparkly, pinstriped Michael Kors pantsuit and platforms with a most unusual winged cowboy hat — at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards.
