Lt-Gen Ashraf lauds tribesmen’s support for peace

Says people of Dera Bugti have greatly contributed in the restoration of peace in the province

QUETTA: Commander Southern Command Lt General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf has appreciated the contribution of tribal people in restoring peace of the province and expressed the hope it would continue in the future.

“People of Dera Bugti have greatly contributed in the restoration of peace in the province and will continue playing that role in the future. The trust of people on security forces is a real success,” Lt-Gen Ashraf said during a visit to the district on Thursday. He was welcomed by tribal and political leaders and civil administration officers upon his arrival in Sui and Kachhi Canal areas of the district.

The commander was accompanied by Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah.

Lt-Gen Ashraf was briefed on the security and overall situation in Sui Sector Headquarters and Bambor Rifles Headquarters. He said: “Enemies of the country are to be dealt without any mercy.” On the occasion, tribal leaders praised the efforts of security forces in maintaining order.
