Safety Measures: Irrigation channels rehabilitated

The political administration of FR Bannu has constructed and rehabilitated several irrigation channels and flood protection walls to improve the living standards of local people. According to a press release issued by the FATA Directorate of Information, a 761 metre long irrigation channel for the community of Kurran Ghari and a 670 metre channel for the community of Shah Hassan Khel have been rehabilitated, which would irrigate hundreds of acres of fertile land. The administration has also constructed a 39 metre and a 45 metre flood wall in the respective areas. Apart from that, a 243 metre flood wall for the community of Warika Jani Khel has also been built, which will benefit 1,300 people and increase agricultural productivity. The administration also hired local skilled and unskilled labour to create a sense of ownership among local people.
