MAS manages 387,000 incidents in two years

Director General says at an event organised to celebrate the service’s second anniversary

LAHORE: Since its launch two years ago, the motorbike ambulance service (MAS) has managed around 387,000 emergencies in the province, said Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer.

He was speaking at an event organised to celebrate the service’s second anniversary at Rescue 1122 office at Ferozpur Road on Thursday.

Dr Naseer claimed that the emergencies were managed while maintaining an average response time of four minutes. The service was launched on October 10, 2017 at divisional headquarters in Punjab, including Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Rawalpindi with 900 motorbike ambulances and emergency medical technicians.

Dr Naseer said that it has been observed that response time has also improved significantly as MAS provides effective response during traffic jams and in congested areas.
