Baldia Factory fire case nears conclusion

Prosecutor says only two more witness statements left to be recorded

KARACHI: The Baldia factory fire case has entered its last phase with the statements of only two witnesses left to be recorded, according to Special Public Prosecutor Sajid Mehboob Shaikh. An anti-terrorism court (ATC) heard the case on Wednesday at the Karachi Central Jail.

The ATC completed cross-examination of the witness statement given by Inspector Jahanzeb and issued a notice to SSP Sajid Sadozai, summoning him on the next hearing for his statement.

Prosecutor Shaikh was present in the court with Jahanzeb. Jail officials produced the accused, Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charya alias Charya, before the court. The counsels for the accused completed cross-examination of Jahanzeb's statement. The court issued a notice to Sadozai and adjourned the hearing till October 17.
