Pakistan Post issues commemorative stamps with the image of Quaid-e-Azam

LAHORE:
In celebration of World Post Day, observed every year on October 9, Pakistan Post has issued commemorative stamps with the image of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The day is observed every year around the world to mark the establishment of the Universal Postal Union. In celebration, various events will be held at major post offices across the country while the message of the Universal Postal Union will also be read aloud.


Previously, Pakistan Post had also issued special stamps with images of renowned poet Mirza Ghalib and other famous personalities to mark different occasions.Different events will be held in all cities across the country. A special ceremony will also be held at the General Post Office in Lahore where Punjab Postmaster General Khalid Owais Ranjha will raise the flag and deliver a speech on advancements in postal services. GPOs in other districts will also observe the occasion.

The purpose of celebrating World Post Day is to recognise the efforts of postmen who ensure that all post is delivered in a timely manner, come rain or shine. Further, Pakistan Post has also tried to keep up with the requirements of the modern era by improving their service delivery and dealing with utility bills which are received at post offices as late as midnight.
