During the commission’s second meeting, PAF personnel briefed it about the working of the radar monitoring system with the Deputy Air Chief explaining about the functioning of the radar system and their locations as well their operational mechanism during war and peace time, also briefing the commission about limitations of the radar systems due to terrain limitations.
He said that the PAF had immediately taken adequate measures after learning about the U.S. operation, adding that the PAF was ready to take action when the operation was underway.
In its first meeting, the commission had directed the Interior Ministry and ISI to ensure that Osama’s family was not repatriated from Pakistan without its consent while also questioning relevant officials from various aspects.
The commission has been tasked to ascertain the reality behind Osama's presence in Pakistan for such a long period as well as investigating the circumstances and facts pertaining to the US operation, determining the nature, background and causes of lapses on the part of the authorities concerned.
Director General of Military Operations General Ashfaq Nadeem also appeared before the commission.
Earlier in May, two US helicopters had entered Pakistan, conducting a 40 minute operation wherein Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden and returned back without being challenged by the PAF.

Maybe I must enlighten the Pakistans friends here; most of the MIGs that entered US bases during the cold war were CIA operatives (to gain access to Soviet tech) they were probably escorted by US military fighters from AF, Navy or Marines.
Agree to limitation of Radars; but PAF also has ground observers who should had spotted and alerted the Air Combat Command. The Ground Signalers as they are called in PAF and their main job is to detect ground hugging, radar evading air intrusions. Nothing to do with Stealth tech.
I am not blowing hot air this is from my studies and working experience of 16+ years in defense contractors.
Pakistans need to question the ability and competence of their military. The military leadership if it has any self respect should had resigned.
We are still talking about the limitations of the radar system due to terrain when the whole world knows by now that the helicopters were "stealth"?
During the height of the cold war defectors from Cuba, China, Russia and N Korea all entered and landed MIGS at USA controlled military bases without prior permission. If the USA can't stop a small aircraft from entering it's military space what chance does Pakistan have? In short - it's not economically feasible to prevent all small scale attacks. Certainly not from the country that mastered stealth technology. I suggest you move onto the question that Pakistan studiously wants to avoid --- what was OBL doing hiding in the shadow of your military academy and who was helping him?
Today there was a fire at a Cyprus munition storage facility. Soon after that Defence Minister Costas Papacostas and National Guard chief of staff, Petros Tsalikidis resigned and admitted that it happened due to poor safety.
ABBOTABAD With over 100+ aircraft in the mission (that is just my guesstimate after being in US defense industry for 16+ years) and US Delta forces providing the ground support entering the most heavily fortified area of Pakistan & leaving without any challenge from military show incompetency at its highest level.
When will the Pakistani leadership take responsibility? Should we expect any resignations over the horizon? Let's not even talk about Naval Airbase in Karachi debacle!!
PAF officials told commission that our radars can only catch Star Plus and not the enemy planes.
