Growth in augmented reality is being fuelled by Snapchat Lenses, Facebook Stories, and Instagram Stories, while virtual reality usage is driven by 360-degree videos on social networks.

Recently, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong took to Twitter to share screenshots showcasing the Instagram Group story feature.

It will enable users to share content with a Group Story on Instagram, and from there they can send it to their close friends or a Group.

Previously, this feature was available on Facebook but the social media giant decided to take it down, however, their parent company Instagram is a more story-driven app which means the Group story feature will do much better.

Instagram has not confirmed any date as to when the feature will be made available to all.
