Quetta celebrates World Teachers’ Day

A two-day training workshop was also conducted in Turbat on the occasion of Teachers’ Day

QUETTA: A ceremony was held in Quetta Press Club to honour teachers on World Teachers’ Day. Additional Secretary Colleges Muhammad Farooq Kakar, President Quetta Press Club Razaur Rehman and Manager Afaaq Leader Club Pakistan Muhammad Tayyab Farid were present on the occasion.

The speakers emphasised the importance of teachers in society and said that only those who respect their mentors can succeed and rule the world.

"To honour the services of teachers, such ceremonies are necessary at government and non-government levels,”the speakers emphasised.

Additional Secretary Education Muhammad Farooq paid tribute to the teaching fraternity and said that a teacher deserves every bit of respect for transforming an ordinary human being into a bureaucrat, businessman, trader and as many other professionals.

"Importance of teachers should be highlighted through such events and their efforts must be acknowledged and given due respect,” Muhammad Farooq added.

"Respect of teachers is a sign of success and it is important that teachers are given their incentives,” said President Quetta Press Club while stressing the government to resolve financial issues of the teaching fraternity.

Students in the ceremony also participated in a declamation contest in which Syed Saeedur Rehman won the first prize, Asmat Ullah stood second and Farhan Baloch came third.

World Teachers’ Day

A two-day training workshop was also conducted in Turbat on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Vice-Chancellor University of Turbat (UoT) Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that Turbat University is committed to enhancing the working capacity of faculty members and administrative staff of his institution and affiliated colleges by conducting training workshops and refresher courses at regular intervals with the support of Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Sharing his best wishes on the occasion, the vice chancellor said institutions of higher learning flourish on the resourcefulness of their teachers.
