PM Imran leaves for three-day China visit today

Premier's visit aims to bolster bilateral relations with strategic partner

Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to leave for a three-day visit to China on Monday to discuss regional and bilateral issues with its strategic partner, according to Radio Pakistan.

Premier Imran will hold separate meetings with President Xi Jinping and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.

He will also discuss expansion of projects under the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.

Cooperation in agriculture, industrial and socio-economic sectors are also part of the prime minister's agenda on the official visit.

PM Imran to visit China next week amid Kashmir crisis

It is expected that he will address the China-Pakistan Business Forum in Beijing to further promote economic and trade exchanges between the two neighbouring countries.

PM Imran will also meet Chinese entrepreneurs and heads of different companies during the visit.

The two sides will discuss immediate implementation of Phase-II of China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement, signed between the two strategic cooperative partners to further enhance bilateral business and trade.

They will also examine the abolition of quota for all Pakistani agro products like rice, wheat, corn, soybean, sugar and tobacco as Pakistan will prove to be a food basket for China.

This would be the third visit of the premier to China within a year.
