KARACHI: Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, Pakistan (SUPARCO) is organising a Space Fair today (Sunday) at the PAF Museum. The fair will open at 11am with numerous schools, colleges and universities taking part in it. A space exhibition will also be held. The event will feature competitions related to water rockets, and robotics and zero-gravity experiments. According to SUPARCO representatives, the fair is being organised in light of World Space Week 2019. The theme for World Space Week 2019 is ‘The Moon: Gateway to the Stars’. World Space Week is observed across the globe to spread awareness on utilising space science for the development of the human race and space science technology. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) decided in 1999 to observe World Space Week every year from October 4 to October 10. SUPARCO invited all educational institutions of Pakistan to observe World Space Week at their institutes after registering at SUPARCO’s official website.
