South Punjab sub-secretariat plans finalised: CM Buzdar
He says he incumbent government is focusing on developing the area

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar stated that administrative arrangements for a sub-secretariat in South Punjab have been finalised and it will be established once a political consensus is developed.
The chief minister expressed these views while speaking to the media on Saturday at the Circuit House. “The previous government neglected South Punjab. The incumbent government is focusing on developing the area, in an effort to end a feeling of deprivation among the people,” he said.
He added that the government had announced a 35 per cent allocation in the provincial budget for South Punjab and the money would be spent on mega development projects. He claimed that the funds allocated for South Punjab would not be transferred to other areas.
“Rs3 billion had been allocated in the budget for the establishment of a sub-secretariat in South Punjab,” he said. The government is initiating various mega projects in the region, he added.
He said that the PC-1 of the Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology (CPEIC) has been finalised and work will begin soon. He maintained that construction work on Nishtar Hospital Phase- II will be completed soon to ensure the best healthcare facilities to the people in the area.
The CM added that a Walled City Authority would be announced in Multan to restore historical buildings.
