PM prioritises PSM revival
Says neglect of the institution was tantamount to injustice to the nation
ISLAMABAD:
The revival of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) was among the foremost priorities of the government, said Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Chairing a meeting on Friday regarding the revival of PSM, he said over the years, neglect of the institution, which had burdened the national kitty, by previous governments was tantamount to injustice to the nation.
The prime minister said the present government was striving to revive and turn PSM into a profit-earning institution so as to lessen the monthly burden on the national kitty besides making it a functional institution, which could contribute to the country's economic development. The PM was told that since some Chinese and Russian companies had expressed interest in the revival of PSM, various proposals were being contemplated in that respect.
