Failure of recruitment policy

Letter October 04, 2019
It has been seven years since the Public Service Commission of Sindh announced posts for lectureship, in 2012

JAMSHORO: The graph of unemployment in Pakistan is rising by the day. According to recent reports, currently more than 30 lakh people are unemployed and this is mainly due to improper governance. Recruitment in our country does not take merit into consideration. The functioning of recruiting bodies, especially in Sindh province, is reflected in the way they conduct their tests and the amount of time it takes them to announce new posts.

The Public Service Commission of Sindh had announced posts for lectureship in various subjects in 2012. It has been seven years since then and not a single new post has been announced. On the other hand, government colleges and higher secondary schools are lacking staff while having various vacancies with respect to student-teacher ratio in these institutions.

I request the education minister of Sindh to take notice of the issue and act responsibly in overcoming the growing unemployment.
