ISLAMABAD:

The officials of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) are reviewing preparations to cope with the flood situation during the monsoon season, as they visited different cities across the country.

An NDMA official told APP that they visited different cities including Peshawar, Lahore and Multan, while adding that they will now visit Karachi to check the preparations of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

It may be mentioned that the officials who are visiting different cities belong to the NDMA’s Disaster Risk Reduction team.  The District Disaster Management Authority in each district, headed by district coordination officers, is preparing their own contingency plan for the current monsoon.
