Campaign to counter pollution launched in Quetta

The campaign kicked off with a crackdown against vehicles releasing toxic gases which pollute the air

QUETTA: A special campaign to counter pollution has been launched in Quetta and its surrounding areas on the directions of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal. The campaign kicked off with a crackdown against vehicles releasing toxic gases which pollute the air.  Owners of these vehicles were also fined to discourage the use of such cars.  Environment Department officials also visited several industries in Hub where the air pollution levels were examined through scientific methods. Officials also fined several industries and issued notices to the concerned authorities. Environment Department is intending to continue the anti-pollution campaign by reviewing the causes of pollution. Several measures will be taken to eradicate it for a more suitable environment.
