The court declared charging transportation fees of summer vacations as illegal and remarked that educational institutions should not be run on commercial lines for making money.
A two-member bench of PHC headed by Justice Waqar Ahmad Sheth in its 23-page verdict directed increasing the sibling discount from 20 per cent to 50 per cent.
The court directed the Provincial Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) to take action against schools that fail to implement the decision of the court. It also told the authority to resolve the issues of annual fee, promotion PHC also directed to devise a policy relating to school uniforms and books.
The court further asked to take steps for making school transport safer and secure for students. The bench stated that PHC would not allow education sectors to be commercialised in a profitable business, we want to secure the future of the children.
