Pre-monsoon preparations: Zig-zag lower Nara canals problematic

MIRPURKHAS: While banks of canals, including the Nara and Mithrao, are being strengthened, the zig-zag type of lower Nara canal has been a problem for the authorities, said Sindh Minister for Irrigation Jam Saifullah Dharejo  at a press conference on Sunday at Circuit House. But there is no danger of a flood this year as all the dams, dykes and embankments have already been strengthened. The Makhi Frash canal was being constructed to help tail-end farmers.
