QUETTA: At least three members of a family in Khuzdar lost battle against cancer in the recent wake of incidents.
Cancer cases have increased at an alarming rate in Balochistan and measures for tackling the life-threatening disease are yet to be taken. According to details, after the death of the father, a son from the same family also died due to cancer in Khuzdar.
Just three months ago, another family lost three of its members due to the deadly disease in Naal town.
The latest victim is identified as Zafar Iqbal who died four days ago.
Previously, a young man in Khuzdar, Sikandar Ali also lost battle against cancer.
"Khatan, Jaffaabad, Gazgi, Naal and Wadh are the areas in Khuzdar greatly affected by cancer,” said rights activist Nazer Ahmed. “Many people died in Khuzdar, whereas around a 100 more registered cancer patients are fighting for their lives,” he added.
