KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Human Settlements Ghulam Murtaza Baloch asked officers to remove hindrances in the execution of lease to Katchi Abadies and seek cooperation from the Board of Revenue and district revenue authorities for this purpose. He issued these directives during a meeting at his office on Monday. The meeting was informed that the objectives of SKAA were to carry out regularisation, upgradation, low cost housing and resettlement of Katchi Abadies. There are reportedly 1,429 Katchi Abadies in the province, out of which 962 have been notified and 139 would be notified by the end of the year and notification of the rest is under process. Baloch directed officers to find land at suitable locations to launch low cost housing schemes.
