Five more dengue patients admitted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital
Dengue wards have also been set up at social security hospitals in Sargodha
BAHAWALPUR:
Five more patients were admitted to the dengue isolation ward at Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) after their laboratory tests were confirmed positive, stated BVH focal person Dr Aamir Bukhari.
He said that earlier, eight patients, who were suffering from dengue, were discharged from the hospital after recovering. Bukhari added that the management of BVH, one of the largest state-run civil hospitals of Punjab, had established another dengue isolation ward in order to provide treatment to patients.
Dengue threat looms as 13 more found infected
He said that dengue isolation ward set up at BVH had around 19 beds. He further said that doctors and paramedics were present, besides the required medicines. All available medical facilities were being provided to the patients, he added. They said that people washed the floor of their homes daily and shops with water, causing pooling on roads and in streets and thus providing a suitable environment to for the dengue mosquito to grow. They said the district management of Bahawalpur should take action in this regard.

Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Ansar Majeed Niazi said that dengue wards have been set up at all social security hospitals in the province. He said that 22 beds, out of a total 55 at the Social Security Hospital Rawalpindi, were isolated to facilitate dengue patients. However, he said the dengue situation was under control in the Sargodha district. He added that a total of 41 dengue cases were registered in the district teaching hospital and 34 patients recovered, while seven patients were under treatment.
Capital’s hospitals told to devise dengue management plans
Screening lab inaugurated
Multan Deputy Commissioner Aamir Khattak inaugurated a dengue screening laboratory, screening mobile van and dengue mobile squad unit in Town Hospital S-Block Shah Rukan-e-Alam on Monday.
Talking to the media after inaugural ceremony, he said that free tests would be conducted at the dengue screening laboratory.
