“The Kashmir dispute has three parties — India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir- – the Kashmiris are the ones who are directly affected from it. No solution of the Kashmir dispute can be find without involvement or obtaining the consent of the Kashmiri people,” said the president while addressing a gathering of Pakistani and Kashmiri community at Brooklyn in the United States.
“Kashmiris are a key party to the dispute because they are the ones who have to take a decision in regard to their political future,” the AJK president said, adding that mediation either initiated by President Donald Trump or the United Nations should revolve according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris and the framework of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He also urged the diaspora community to forge unity among their ranks and file and take advantage of the world’s focus on Kashmir by projecting the Kashmir issue in its true perspective, added that the Pakistani nation and people of Kashmir have demonstrated unprecedented unity since August 5 when New Delhi revoked the special status of the occupied valley that it had for several decades.
“This spirit of complete unity must be maintained and further strengthen to carry the Kashmiri peoples’ struggle for their right to self-determination forward,” he exhorted.

President Masood warned that if the international community failed to provide justice to the oppressed people of IOK, it would not be possible for anyone to control the enraged youth who are being deprived of their fundamental rights.
He commended the overseas community and the participants for organising a successful rally outside the UN building, saying: "Unprecedented rally was impactful and it has been termed as the largest rally ever called in the past eight years."
The president said that many people from other cities of the US, Canada and western Europe had participated in the rally helping to make it a success.
He also praised the speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan, at the UNGA. and termed it as a true representation of the sentiments of the Kashmiri people.
The AJK president said the statement delivered in the UNGA was concise, clear and targeted while thanking Premier Imran on behalf of the Kashmiri people.
Responding to the propaganda being spread by India about terrorism in Kashmir, he termed the Indian narrative as baseless and misleading, saying that fact of the matter is that unarmed people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are fighting with 900,000 strong army and they are the victims of state-sponsored terrorism.
Rejecting the idea of any bilateral talks with India in the current scenario, President Masood said that New Delhi has always used bilateral talks to gain time and consolidated its illegal occupation over the disputed territory.
He termed Modi a Hitler in the region adhering to the same ambitions and policies of the Nazi and fascist parties. "India has locked down the occupied territory through a planned conspiracy for the systematic genocide of Kashmiri Muslims."
