KARACHI:

Pakistan’s participation in the World Junior Individual Squash Championship was put in doubt as the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is yet to receive the players’ visas.

Danish Atlas and Nasir Iqbal are seeded third while Salman Mohib is scheduled to make his debut at the event, which will begin on July 13 and features players from 15 other countries.

PSF Secretary Irfan Asghar has said that the federation has requested organisers to pursue the visas’ case.

Meanwhile, Atlas has said that he has been preparing for the championship for the last two months. He also skipped trials for the World Team Championship last week, to concentrate on the World Junior Individual Squash Championship.

“I’d prepared with the PSF for the Junior Asia Cup title which I won in Jordan two weeks ago,” Atlas told The Express Tribune. “Winning the title boosted my confidence. I have high hopes because I’m in good form.”
