Justice is unity

Letter September 29, 2019
Justice is the only way to unite our people and make way for a new Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: We live in as society plagued with natural and man-made disasters. As a result, there is an unprecedented polarisation and disagreement among people in this society. All these divisive tendencies are on the rise.

We all react differently to this dilemma of disunity. No doubt, every age has been beset by troubles; but ours is entirely different--unprecedented polarisation. Justice is the only way to unite our people and make way for a new Pakistan.

But no one seems to cares. We have such thick-skinned people appointed as political representatives and even in authority positions who often ignore the problems of the people, which is why numerous people suffer. Ignoring their suffering can never be a noble task. To be a righteous person is to care for those who suffer. Are we all not God-fearing enough to stand up to injustice and question our rulers and those with authoritarian tendencies? It is time to fight for our rights. We should try to behave like UN Now we stand divided and behave like what Khalil Gibran has described in his poem ‘Pity the nation.’ He says pity the nation that raises its voice not but while walking in a funeral procession.
