CPO condemns India’s attempt to alter Kashmir’s demography

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi district police on Friday organised a rally to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemned the India’s annexation of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The rally was taken out from the Murree Road, Saddar Metro Bus Station and culminated at Saddar Food Street which was led by Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Faisal Rana.

On the occasion, Rawalpindi Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Syed Ali Akbar, Potohar SP Syed Ali, Rawal SP Asif Masood and Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Bin Ashraf were present while a large number of personnel from Rawalpindi district police, Elite Force, Dolphin Force, City Traffic Police, Highway Patrolling Police, representatives of traders and scores of citizens belonging to different walks of life attended.

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans like ‘Kashmir will be part of Pakistan’, ‘Struggle will continue till Kashmir achieves freedom’.

The participants also chanted slogans against India and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the injustices the people of Kashmir are going through.

Addressing the participants, the CPO said, "We are with our Kashmiri brethren and will continue our unconditional support to them till they achieve freedom." He strongly condemned India’s unconstitutional attempt at altering the demography of Indian occupied Kashmir and demanded that India immediately reverse the actions which jeopardised the peace and stability of South Asia.

He said that global forces should take notice of the sheer violation of human rights in Indian held Kashmir and atrocities committed by the Indian army against innocent civilians. The sacrifices rendered by Kashmiri people would not go in vain, said the CPO.

Rawalpindi CTO and others also addressed the rally and condemned the use of power by Indian armed forces to suppress the voice of the innocent Kashmiris and said the injustice and aggression taking place in Kashmir should immediately be stopped. They expressed their determination to support their Kashmiri brethren.
