The protesters demanded the police hand over the robbers, claiming that the police would not provide justice. Citizens claimed the robbers were caught red-handed in a crowded market place.
According to eyewitnesses, the robbers entered a store and pulled out a gun on the shopkeeper. When the shopkeeper refused to cooperate with them, they shot at the man and tried to get away from the spot.
The enraged citizens then caught and beat up the robbers, but were prevented from lynching them by police who arrived on the scene.
The mob surrounded the police vehicle containing the injured suspects and refused to leave the area for some time, demanding "immediate justice".

Wow! What a great country Pakistan and its police department. It provide protection to criminals and annoy common man. Good job police officers are doing. Keep protecting robbers so that they rob the whole country. Well-done police. Nation is proud of you.
only in Pakistan, security is provided to criminals and public is punished
they didnt allow the sialkot incident to be repeated here. so kudos to the police for that at least. now if they can do justice via courts asap it will deter the public from wanting to impart justice on the streets and restore some faith in the police and judicial system.
finally, i would urge the public to realize that what they wanted to do was barbarism. a crime much worse than what the robbers were committing. Getting such revenge will in the long run harm only you.
Soon these robbers will be free and will be shooting and looting the common man. In Pakistan, criminals are always treated with respect. Their life is valued far above that of an ordinary man.
The law enforcement has proved tthat they can save the killer robber from the public and not the public from these killers. And that also when the public is able to catch the culprit and not the police. It has begin to Smell . . .
How about saving the public when needed. How about being swift in grabbing the target shooters and robbers on their own. Innocent public has shown bravery without a doubt.
Sialkot anyone?
These incidents are going to gain pace in the coming future. The collapse of civil justice system and law-and-order enforcement agencies could only lead to this chaos. If go unnoticed those days are not very far when our so-called democratic politicians whose living standards are far comparable to an ordinary man will be treated in the same way. Exaggerations apart people who belong to middle and upper-middle class will also be dealt by such mobs. I doubt if the history (French revolution) will repeat itself keeping in view our society. This could be a big disaster or anarchy or something that may be named after it happens. God forbid.
It's one of those responses you see when people lose all faith in there justice system -- one of those "failed state" things.
Inshallah,
They haven`t been lynched. Now, the police and courts should conduct the proceedings and do justice.
Surely, lynching is not the way. If all of us take justice in our hands, then there`ll be no justice left.
