QUETTA: Four people were killed on Friday in two incidents of firing in Mastung Town, some 50 kilometres from the provincial capital, and Mand, a town on the Pak-Iran border, official sources said.

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a motorcyclist and two persons riding pillion in the Kand Masoori area of Mastung Town, sources told The Express Tribune by the phone. The three sustained multiple bullets to their upper torsos and died on the spot. The attackers managed to flee before law enforcers reached the spot.

Personnel of the Levies force, a tribal police force, reached the site an hour after the incident.

“The triple murder is the result of some old enmity,” an official told The Express Tribune. The Mastung police have registered a case and further investigations are ongoing.

Separately, gunmen shot dead a man near Mand, a town of the Pakistan-Iran border, police said. The victim, identified as Muhammad Abid, was killed when he was standing at a bus terminal soon after arriving from Karachi. The attackers riding on a motorbike managed to flee.
