Health services boycotted over GHA protest

All departments excluding emergency would be shut down for an indefinite period in all public hospitals across K-P

PESHAWAR: Grand Health Alliance (GHA) of doctors’ organisations and medical staff has announced to end dialogue with government over deadlock in health authorities bill. All departments excluding emergency would be shut down for an indefinite period in all public hospitals across the province.

Addressing a presser in Peshawar on Tuesday, the GHA Chairman Dr Alamgir Yousufzai said that the government broke its promise and presented the health authorities bill in the assembly.

He said the protest would be launched from Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar on Wednesday while there would a strike in Hayatabad Medical Complex on Thursday. The chairman added that all medical services will be boycotted at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar on Friday and a protest would be staged outside the provincial assembly.
