Devolved Hospitals: Medical staff transferred on deputation

The staff and administration of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) have been transferred on deputation to the provincial government, said JPMC executive director at a meeting held Saturday. The meeting, held at the JPMC, was attended by staff and administration officials from all three devolved hospitals to discuss their post-devolution situation. At the occassion, questions were raised regarding the impact on staff seniority and promotions. At the meeting, staff members resolved to continue in their struggle to reverse the devolution and bring the three hospitals back under federal jurisdiction in accordance with the 18th amendment. A committee was also set up at the meeting to formulate a future course of action.
